University Area: Community Safety Analysis

Through a partnership with the University of South Florida (USF) and the University Area Community Development Corporation (UACDC), CCC’s Fatima Elkott worked with USF Urban Planning Master’s Students to conduct a community safety analysis in 2022.

UACDC’s last analysis was conducted in 2016 and the UACDC’s Safety Coalition was specifically interested in understanding the “real” and “perceived” safety of the area.

Fatima worked with the students to conduct an analysis in Spring 2022 and provided the UACDC with a follow-up report on implementable actions to some of the pertinent safety issues that were identified from the analysis.
